| It's the last birthday you look forward to. I'm not a huge birthday
person, but I am pretty bummed that now I'll be looking back into the
past each time April 30 comes around. Twenty-one is also a reminder
that my college days are almost over, and I can now look forward to
work :(
I turned down my only internship offer with Donaldson Co. in their air
filter department. It paid $17.50/hr, and that's the only thing that
made it hard to turn down. The commute would have sucked, but more
importatnly, it felt like a prideless, boring job. I'd rather get paid
less and do more fun things on and around campus.
Truth is, I'm deathly afraid of the work force. My ambitious and at
times creative mind gets bored easily. I've always had multiple part
time jobs, just to find a way to make the hours seem less dull. I need
a job that is both unique and challenging. Furthermore, it needs to be
hands on. Starring at data you haven't collected yourself seems so damn
insignificant. That's what Donaldson would have had me do. Next summer
I plan on going hardcore after NASA, Lockheed and ATK. I have the
brains and the resume. Now somebody needs to buy what I'm selling. Of
the companies out there, they are on the list of ones that can give me
the job I need in order to stay sane.
I dont think I'll ever stop not wanting to grow up. Adult life has
never seemed too exciting to me. I'll have to be determined to make it
exciting. Is it bad that I don't want to be a bread-winner? I'd rather
do something cool and fun and let my wife make all the cash. Is that
bad? Traditionally, maybe. But I'm the type to rather have a wife, then
have money at all. It's probably a little scary that I am not afraid of
being poor. I'd just rather enjoy my day then worry about the future.
Irresponsible? Maybe.
I've probably got my priorities crooked, but now I can buy beer. I'm older now, so I gotta keep fighting this growing up stuff while I still can.

3EB was way ahead of their time, this song could be on the radio now!

| Tonight, WOW is a word I have frequenly used. It's been an amazing weekend.
1. GOPHERS WIN!!!! WCHA Regular Season and now Final Five Champs!! That was one hell of a hockey game. I really hope the selection committee doesn't screw UND and UMN over by putting them in the same bracket. The Sioux are a dangerous team, and deserve to kick the snot out of other teams before meeting up with the Gophers again. 2. I can never harp on Jeff Frazee or Blake Wheeler again. Frazee was solid in the championship game, and Wheeler might as well be Niel Broten circa 1979!
1. I need another number one because TIM and BECKY asked me to be in their wedding party!!!! OMG. Too much awesomeness for one occasion. Viva la 3YM!! I cannot be more honored. That is so cool they asked me to do that.
4. Sleep! I love it, and it's still spring break so I get to do even more of it.
Happy St. Patty's. Enjoy your weeks everyone!

Broten's goal: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-FIqU387ycU
The resemblance is uncanny!

| Although no doubt there have been many awesome goals scored by players wearing the M on their sweater, I gotta say my favorite goal was the Irman goal up in UND in the '05 season, where he jumped out of the penalty box, caught a pass from Harrington and scored on a breakaway, making Parise look as silly as he made Bruekler look in '04 with THE penalty shot at Mariucci. However, the best part of the goal was the jersey tug he did for the student section at the ralph. For another Fargoan who hates the sioux, turned Minnesotan, that was close to as good as it gets in my book.
But now that the cup is secure and the celebration has been had, lets finish off this great weekend with a sweep of MTU, and gain some more momentum so we can collect the Broadmore Trophy two weeks from now!
Go Gophers

| Actually, my memory sucks so daily recaps are a bad idea, and I'll
never be as witty or cultured as Stepper so I won't try to entertain
you.
I will however, give everyone a quick update on my interests, etc. as of late. 1)Twins spring training has started, which means two things ---a: its not spring, its just almost march, where its a different season every 2 days ---b: i can almost taste the Summit EPA and popcorn while sitting in right field ---c:
i have to start making adjustments in my routine to account for all the
time I will need to spend on watching baseball at many different
levels, all spring, summer, and start of fall 2)The 2007 Football
team will be good! Thank you Tim Brewster for the introduction of the
word optimism into the Gopher Football vocabulary 3)Gopher Hockey's
sky is falling. They have no veteran leaders, like last year. They're
being carried by freshmen, but at least this year the freshman will for
the most part be sticking around for 4 years 4)Magic and Airplanery with the Aerospace Dept. has the official job title of research assistant, so my boss tells me 5)I
hate people who go to this school and have no school spirit. Somebody
ship them off to the nearest private school, thank you very much.
School spirit has nothing to do with a school or sports for that
matter, it actually has to do with those words you put on your job
application that describe yourself, but if you don't have school spirit
you don't truly understand. (i.e. supportive, passionate, belief in a
cause or team, goal oriented, perservering through thick and thin, etc.) 6)Every
section in the marching band SUCKS (except for property staff because
we keeps it real) and any doubters are too stupid to see that their
section probably sucks more than the one they're making fun of. 7)Gay
is the new hippie! Translation: name me a gay guy I might know or have
heard of that doesn't either a. smoke pot on occasion/all the time or
b. would try pot if given the proper setting. Also IMO they have their
own style, music, culture, and more noticeably they are more prominent
and successful than hippies at rallying people to their cause. Not that
any of this is bad at all. 8)"Procrastination isn't the problem, it's the solution! So procrastinate now, and don't put it off." -Ellen Degeneres 9)Al
Gore should really come out with "An Inconvenient Truth II: The Rampage
of ManBearPig." Maybe then he can add to his Oscar winnings. I'm all
for eco-friendly stuff like the new energy bill, but Tipper Gore sucks
because she tried to get AC/DC banned in America. 10)Fox Reality
should do a show on the School of Music Faculty. Diem would win if it
was a game-show format, hands down. People like watching people
dominate on TV. Why do you think LOTR and Tiger Woods have such a
strong fan base? 11)I still have yet to find, or have time to find a Nintendo Wii. The sadness is difficult to bear.
To bed!!!
